Day 4

Day 4
When returning to our hostel after a night in the city we were startled to find a man, very old man, coming into our room to spend the night. We always thought that staying in a hostel meant living with young people but this man definitely broke the stereotype. He had to be atleast 50 and came into the room took off his clothes to his tighty whities and went to bed. Although he was a very nice guy it was a little weird for us college students to have a connection with this man. After waking up and booking another night, in our own room, we decided to head to the Bastille Market. The market is located in the city very close to the water. It is an awesome market with vendors covering multiple city blocks. The vendors sold everything from clothing to some of the best fruits and vegetables I have ever seen. We decided to stay with the culture of France and each have a crepe from a local street vendor. The crepe was freshly made in front of us and absolutely delicious. When we finished our crepes we decided to take the hour-long train and go to Versailles. When leaving the train station all you can see is the giant golden gates of the small city. After waiting in line for almost an hour we were finally in. The wait was completely worth it, Versailles is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. I cannot believe someone actually had this built for him self. We walked for at least 3 miles around the property and spent hours looking in the mansion. The architecture and furnishings are amazing. When we saw the entire property we decided that Versailles was not enough for the day. We then took the train to champs elysees which is known for some of the best shopping in the world. Row after row of designer stores line the streets of champs elysees. At the end of the street sits the Arch De Triumph which is also another very popular monument built in support of napoleon which one must see if they are in Paris. Overall this day was very successful as we got to see many popular destinations in Paris. Tomorrow is our last day in Paris and we hope to see the Louvre and Notre Dame then we will take a night time train to Madrid.
